What I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
I saw my reflection in a window I didn't know
My own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me
Wastin´away
On the streets of philadelphia
I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of philadelphia
Aint no angel gonna greet me
Its just you and I my friend
My clothes don't fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip the skin
The night has fallen, Im lyinawake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of philadelphia
As I walked out in Laredo one day,
I spied a young cowboy, all wrapped in white linen
Wrapped up in white linen and cold as the clay.
"I see by your outfit, that you are a cowboy."
These words he did say as I slowly walked by.
"Come sit down beside me and hear my sad story,
For I'm shot in the chest, and today I must die."
"'Twas once in the saddle I used to go dashing,
'Twas once in the saddle I used to go gay.
First down to Rosie's, and then to the card-house,
Got shot in the breast, and I'm dying today."
"Oh, beat the drum slowly and play the fife lowly,
And play the dead march as you carry me along;
Take me to the valley, and lay the sod o'er me,
For I'm a young cowboy and I know I've done wrong."
And I can bite my tongue
Cause it would take all week
To tell you where I'm from
I know what your about
Why don't you close your mouth?
And step right over here
So we can dance this out
These lazy days are way to long
Like razor blades, under your tongue
And the city lights, will burn you down
Or build you up, high above the ground
High above the ground, high above the ground
High above the ground
The club is getting dark
And I can feel the heat
I set my hands right down
To right below your knees
If this is all there is
Then this is all there can be
Cause I don't see no road
That leads to you, and me.
Paved the way on empty roads
Into a ??
And I'm proud to take my angel home
But tonight, you walk on streets of gold
Walk on streets of gold, you walk on streets of gold
Where did you go? When the sun rose
Now I know, how to get off these dirt roads
To find these streets of gold
Where did you go? When the sun rose
Now I know how to get off these dirt roads
To find these streets of gold
I must admit you broke my heart
The awful truth is really sad
I must admit i was awful bad
While lovers laugh and music plays
I stumble by and i hide my pain
The lights are lit, the moon is gone
I think i´ve crossed the rubicon
I walk the streets of love and they´re full of tears
And i walk the streets of love and they´re full of fears
While music pumps from passing cars
A couple watch me from a bar
A band just played the wedding march
And the corner store mends broken hearts
And a woman asks me for a dance
Oh it´s free of charge, just one more chance
I walk the streets of love and they´re full of tears
Walk the streets of love for a thousand years
Oh tell me now
I... Oh i walk the streets of love, yeah and they´re drenched with tears... Oh
You had the moves, you had the cards
I must admit you were awful smart
The awful truth is awful sad
I must admit i was awful bad
And i walk the streets of love and they´re drenched with tears
And i walk the streets of love for a thousand years... Oh
Walk the streets of love and they´re drenched with tears
Oh every night, oh there´s only one and not enough for him
Oh i, yeah and they´re full of tears
Oh everybody talk about it
Everybody be walking down it
Yeah but i found out.... Oh yes that i...
Oh yes i do
Oh the streets of love, yeah, they´re drenched with, drenched with in tears...

Si c'est chaud c'est que ça brûle
Si ça brûle c'est que c'est chaud !
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
Hand held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news
So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
She's no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.
Chorus
In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,
Same old man is sitting there on his own
Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,
Each tea last an hour
Then he wanders home alone
Chorus
And have you seen the old man
Outside the seaman's mission
Memory fading with
The medal ribbons that he wears.
In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn't care
Chorus
through the streets of your town
everyday i make my way
through the streets of your town
Don't the sun look good today?
but the rain on its way
watch the butcher shine his knives
and this town is full of battered wives.
Round and round up and down
through the streets of your town
everyday i make my way
through the streets of your town
I ride your river under the bridge
i take your boat out to the reach
cos i love that engine roar
but i still don't know what i'm here for
Round and round up and down
through the streets of your town
everyday i make my way
through the streets of your town
They shut it down
they closed it down
they shut it down
they pulled it down
Round and round up and down
through the streets of your town
everyday i make my way
through the streets of your town
You're walking through the streets of fear
What is this did I consent
Armed guard of punishment
What is life and what is death
You may laugh or gasp for breath
I ride the streets now filled with hate
Carve pathways through the lines of fate
With my energising ray
Power is the game I play
I can murder steal or rape
Panic is the rule I make
Panic is the rule I make
Panic is the rule I make
I couldn't find anywhere else
Hey, I'm not trying to be nobody
I just want a chance to be myself
I've spent a thousand miles of thumbin'
Yes I've worn blisters on my heels
Trying to find me something better
Here on the streets of Bakersfield
Hey you don't know me but you don't like me
You say you care less how I feel
But how many of you that sit and judge me
Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?
I spent sometime in San Francisco
I spent a night there in the can
They threw this drunk man in my jail cell
I took fifteen dollars from that man
Left him my watch and my old house key
Don't want folks thinkin' that I'd steal
Then I thanked him as I was leaving
And I headed out for Bakersfield
Hey you don't know me but you don't like me
You say you care less how I feel
But how many of you that sit and judge me
Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?
Hey you don't know me but you don't like me
You say you care less how I feel
But how many of you that sit and judge me
Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?
How many of you that sit and judge me
Have ever walked the streets of Bakersfield?
Where she wanted to be
We left our friends and all our kin
Back there in Tennessee
And I bought those one way tickets
She had often begged me for
And they took us to the streets of Baltimore
Well her heart was filled with gladness
When she saw those city lights
She said the prettiest place on earth was
Baltimore at night
Well a man feels proud to give his woman
What she's longing for
And I kinda liked the streets of Baltimore
Well I got myself a factory job
I ran an old machine
And I bought a little cottage
In a neighborhood serene
And every night when I came home
With every muscle sore
She'd drag me through the streets of Baltimore
Well I tried my best to bring her back
To what she used to be
But I soon learned she loved those bright lights
More than she loved me
So I'm going back on that same train
That brought me here before
While my baby walks the streets of Baltimore
While my baby walks the streets of Baltimore
And it hurts too much to see you and how you left yourself behind You know I wouldnt want to be you Now thats a hell I cant describe
So now I wander through my daze And try to find my ways To the feelings that I felt I saved for you and no one else
And though as long as this road seems I know its called the street of dreams But thats not stardust on my feet it leaves a taste thats bittersweet thats called the blues
I dont know Just what I should do Everywhere I go I see you
Although its what we planned this much is true What I thought was beautiful Dont live inside of you Anymore
I dont know just what I should do everywhere I go I see you although Its what we planned this much is true What I thought was beautiful Dont live inside of you Anymore
What this means to me is more than I know you'll believe What I thought of you now has cost more than it should for me What I thought was true before were lies I couldn't see What I thought was beautiful was only memories
